Hummel Heritage Farm

Description: If you or someone in your family has enjoyed visiting Papaw’s Farm within its 10-year history in Sparta, Indiana, you will be pleased to learn that steps are being taken to keep it as an educational teaching farm forever!  Hummel Heritage Farm is the new name for Papaw’s Farm. Academic programs are hands-on as can be: farming & food, ecology & earth stewardship, Native American culture and Pioneer life. We strive to incorporate current state standards. We have fun teaching living in balance, relaxing naturally outdoors, recycling, saving greenspace, taking care of the environment, composting, and growing your own organic garden.

Facility Open to Public: Yes, by reservation only.

Onsite Programs Available: Yes.

Offsite Programs Available: No.

Entrance Fees: No.

Program Fees: Yes - $6 per person

Teacher Training Workshops/Programs: No.

Audiences: PreK-7 school groups, family groups, youth organizations, scouts, and adults

Program Topics:  Farming & Food, Composting, Organic gardening, Ecology & Earth Stewardship, and Native American Culture & Pioneer Life.
