Title: Christmas Bird Count
Description: Participants will use binoculars to identify and count birds.  Extensive knowledge of birds is not required. Binoculars are recommended. The purposed of the event is to gather useful data of avian populations and trends. A Simple lunch is provided. Pre-registration is required.

Title:Saturday Stream Snapshot (SSS) Citizen Monitoring Program Data Sharing Potluck Brunch
Description: The 5th Annual Saturday Stream Snapshot Data Sharing Brunch January 12th at 10:30 am - 12:30 pm at the Izaak Walton League Lodge at 544 Branch Hill - Loveland Road, Loveland, OH 45140. Greenacres provides beverages, breakfast meats, and tableware. We ask that guests bring a dish to share. We will eat first and then have a presentation about our data starting at 11:15 am. You do not have to RSVP - just come! SSS Volunteers and anyone interested in the data the Saturday Stream Snapshot Citizen Monitoring Program collected on the Lower Little Miami River and its tributaries are welcome to join us.

Title: The Ultimate Educator Expo!
Description: The EXPO, presented by Fidelity Investments hosted by Greater Cincinnati Environmental Educators (GCEE) and the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden, is FREE for teachers of all grades and subjects. The Expo features 20-minute break-out sessions in which teachers will gain practical information. Over thirty environmental organizations will be there to share their educational programs available to teachers and students. Refreshments and door prizes will also be available. Teachers may register at www.cetconnect.org/ultimateeducatorexpo to be part of this Expo. All teachers will be asked to park in the education lot and overflow will be available in the main lot. Day of registration will be available at the Harold C. Schott Education Center.

Title:Great Outdoor Weekend 2009
Description:The 5th annual Great Outdoor Weekend will be held September 26 and 27, 2009.  Get Out during this fall weekend and experience a free sampling of the best nature activities in the Cincinnati Region.  The Great Outdoor Weekend was designed by a group of environmental education and outdoor recreation organizations to provide a diverse sampling of the best nature activities in Greater Cincinnati. Title:Great Outdoor Weekend 2009 - Water Festival at Izaak Walton League Lodge
Description:The Cincinnati Chapter of Izaak Walton League will be hosting Buckeye United Flyfishers, Greenacres Foundation Water Quality Project, Hamilton County Soil and Water Conservation District, Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Scenic Rivers Program, ONDR Division of Watercraft, and AEP River Operations for a fun filled day of water-related outdoor activities.  Programs include Flyfishing (fly tying and casting), river fishing, canoeing, water safety demos, touring a Watercraft Patrol Boat, water chemistry testing, river critter monitoring, fish printing, Enviroscape demonstration, and an interactive River Works Discovery Exhibit.  Come join the fun!

Title: Citizen Qualitative Habitat Evaluation Index Training (CQHEI)
Description: Participants will learn how to assess stream habitat and learn how to complete Ohio EPA’s Citizen Habitat Evaluation Index (CQHEI). This survey looks at whether or not a stream can support fish.  Ohio EPA finds this information very valuable and it is a quick and easy way for you to monitor a stream without getting wet!

Title: Project WILD and WILD Aquatic Workshop (CANCELLED)
Description: This workshop will feature water-related activities from the Project WILD Aquatic K-12 Curriculum and Activity Guide (developed through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service) that emphasizes aquatic wildlife and aquatic ecosystems and the Project WILD K-12 Curriculum and Activity Guide that focuses on wildlife and habitat. Both guides are interdisciplinary, supplementary, environmental and conservation education programs for grades K-12. Teachers who attend will receive both supplementary curricula.
