Title: Saturday Stream Snapshot (SSS) Citizen Monitoring Program Volunteer Training
Description: Volunteers needed collect samples, transport samples to the lab, analyze samples, and enter data into a database.Every Saturday at 9:30 a.m., we train new volunteers and give tours of the lab. As a 501(c) 3 organization, we can offer volunteers Community Service Hours. Come join the fun!

Title: Rain Garden Lesson Guide Workshops
Description: Are you interested in planting a rain garden on your school site? Then this single-day workshop is for you! A New Rain Garden Lesson Guide was developed in 2009 as part of the Clermont Soil & Water Conservation District “Partnering to Protect Water Resources: A Rain Garden Demonstration and Education Project”  and contains six project-based science and math lessons that take you and your students through the process of designing, installing, maintaining, and monitoring a Rain Garden on or near your school campus. The Lessons are divided into three grade bands (3-5, 6-8,and 9-12). All Lessons have been correlated with Ohio Academic Standards and use an inquiry-based approach to learning.
Date: Tuesday June 15 (Grades 3-8) and June 22, 2010 (Grades 6-12)
Time: 8:30 am – 3:30 pm

Cost: Free (There are also thirty $100 stipends for teachers who meet the stipend criteria).

Title: 2010 Ohio River Sweep
Description: River Sweep is an annual cleanup event held each year on the third Saturday in June along the Ohio River and its tributaries the entire length of the river, from its origin in Pittsburgh, PA to its end in Cairo, IL, including 1,962 miles of shoreline and many tributaries.  The River Sweep provides an excellent opportunity for many civic groups, school organizations, and recreational clubs to actively participate in a community service event. Any individual, young or old, or any group is welcome. Children under 18 need a parent signature on the liability waiver before participating.

Title: 2010 Paddlefest
Description: Mark your calendars for the 9th Annual Paddlefest at Coney Island. The Kid's Outdoor Adventure Expo will take place from 9 am - 4 pm on Thursday, June 24, the River Music Arts & Outdoor Festival at Paddlefest will be held from 4 - 11 pm on Friday June 25, and Paddlefest Float Trips and Races take palce from 7 am - 12 Noon on June 26th followed by a Gold Star Chili Finish Line Festival following the paddling at Yeatmans Cove. See ya there!

Locations: Coney Island for Kids Extreme Expo, Ohio RIver Music Festival, and Paddle Fest trip departure. Ohio River for float trip and Yeatmans Cove for finish line Chili Festival.
